Conference Objectives:
- To connect researchers, decision-makers, health and social service professionals, survivors and community people to explore promising strategies and best practice in suicide prevention
- To recognize that mental health promotion is the foundation of suicide prevention
- To identify strategies that provide broad-based support for high risk populations
- Aboriginal peoples, youth and seniors
- People experiencing mental illness and addictions
- People experiencing violence, abuse and trauma
- People experiencing sexual discrimination
- To have a greater understanding of the factors that cause TURMOIL and that may potentially precipitate the TRAGEDY of suicide
- To identify what builds resilience and HOPE
- To renew the call to ACTION and launch the CASP Blueprint for a Canadian National Suicide Prevention Strategy-Second Edition
