CASP/ACPS Donations and Memoriams

How can I make a Difference?

The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP) is the only Canada-wide registered non-profit organization dedicated solely to suicide prevention. CASP relies upon individuals and groups for the financial support needed to carry out its work. Presently CASP receives no direct government funding.

Facts:

In Canada, each year

  • over 3,700 people die by suicide - that's 10 Canadians each day - every day.
  • over 400,000 Canadians deliberately harm themselves every year.
  • suicide deaths & suicide attempts cost the Canadian economy over $14.7 million annually.
  • it is estimated that between 6 and 28 people are deeply affected by each suicide.

CASP's ultimate purpose is to reduce the suicide rate and minimize the harmful consequences of suicidal behaviour. Annual donations and in-memoriam gifts are the lifeblood of our organization. We are grateful to our supporters for their thoughtful gifts.

How can I donate?

1. General donation or In-memoriam gift.

The easiest way is by donating online to CASP at Canada Helps, a secure website specifically developed to securely and efficiently accept and administer charitable donations.

2. Endowment Fund:

The CASP Endowment Fund for Survivors Support was established by the family of Freddi Ford to help survivors on their grief journey. The goal of the fund is to further develop the survivor support network facilitated by dedicated grass-roots volunteers and workers in communities across Canada. The fund is co-sponsored by the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
